Daily Bread

The scripture I was reading this morning Isaiah 55:12 - For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

The greek word for joy is chara it means joy or delight. It's related to chairo, which means to rejoice. We know our joy comes from trusting God, and we can always find reason to rejoice even when we oversleep, wake up with a headache, etc. Just knowing Jesus is reason enough to rejoice.

I like what John Piper said, The glory and grace of Jesus is that He is, and always will be, indestructibly happy. Reflect on that a moment. Remember all the things Jesus went through as a man while on earth, but they couldn't steal His joy.

As you go through your day today and everything doesn't go just like you would like it to go, rejoice in knowing Jesus and He ultimately is in control.

Lord, bless all of my online friends with peace and joy. Remind them, You are in control. Get their minds off of their circumstances.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Have a great day.
